Night Vision...

Our home group is going very well, as always. It really doesn’t matter which group you’re in—if you’re in one you’re being blessed. Kristin, Kendall and I are in Rich and June Book’s home group this time, and it’s a blast.

This past Sunday, after our Bible Study was completed, and the great food devoured, Tim Gampp, Rich and I went to the basement to the toy area. Jacob and Jordan have lots of cool toys like, Darth Vader, Light Sabers, Lizards, and Kendall thinks their crocodile is the best. But the toy we adults (I use the term very loosely) enjoyed the most was the Spy Kids Night Vision set – I’m not joking, it’s awesome! You put them on and push these buttons on both sides and these lights light up the lens and reflect out so you can see -- a little anyway. Ok, so they don’t work well, certain not like Army or Marine issue. Actually they don’t really work as well as a bad flashlight, but they’re really cool, and that counts for something.

Anyway, we finished the evening of great fellowship and everyone went home. Shortly after arriving home our phone rang. Kristin said that June called to tell her that she left her purse at their house. The plan they made was that I was to meet Rich at the Mule Town Mini Mart (for those of you not familiar, yes Mule Town really exists, and no I don’t live there.) and we would do the swap.

Now to make a long post even longer, I arrived at the Mule Town Mini Mart about 5 minutes later and as I drove up to Rich’s truck and got close enough to see past his headlights, I could clearly see that he was wearing the Night Vision glasses, and I just exploded into laughter. There’s just something about seeing a grown man, (a great man at that) wearing Spy Kids Night Vision Glasses – it’s was hilarious! Rich and I had a great visit, he is always spiritual, encouraging, happy, and a blessing to be around, even in his son’s Spy Kid’s Night Vision Glasses.

I want to leave you with this question… who needs night vision when we have such a mighty God leading and loving us?!!

- The LORD is my light and my salvation -- whom shall I fear?
Psalm 27:1
- You are my lamp, O LORD? The LORD turns my darkness into light.
2 Samuel 22:29
- Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
Psalm 119:105

- If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. ( for a great blessing read the whole chapter) Psalm 139:11-12

- But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
1 Peter 2:9
HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD??!!

Good post!

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Psalm 139:14

He is a great God indeed, that created a man able to invent night vision goggles! I could use something to help see in the fog!
